Chapter 7 – Overwhelming Firepower

Despite Ines’ desperate persuasion, it looks like Ines’ family will be working on the Castle together in six months. Well, if Bella-san decides to work on the Castle, Ines won’t be able to stop her, will she? Somehow, even I can tell that Bella-san and Ines are of a different caliber.

“Wataru-san. Are you sure this is okay?”

Bella-san, who is supposed to be of a different caliber, is scared. Even though she is a much superior person to Ines, it is natural for her to be frightened when she is surrounded by monsters. Seeing that Bella-san was in a weakened state, Ines, who was in a good mood, reeked of a no-good human being.

“There is a powerful barrier on this ship, so you don’t have to worry. You can rest assured.”

I call out to her that it’s okay, but the Lutto is so close to the monsters that even if I say don’t worry, it’s still scary. It would be faster to defeat the monsters quickly and prove that it is safe. But first, they have to get the stone to hit the monster. Otherwise, they won’t be able to raise their level.

“Well, now you have to throw the stones at them. There are plenty of stones, so please hit as many monsters as you can. When you’re done, we’ll put them all together and kill the monsters.”

…Huh? No one moves. Is it too hard to suddenly provoke the monsters?

“…Hmm…”

While I was wondering what to do, Rimu took a stone from the pile and fired it. The stone fired at a furious pace hit the merman, whose body slammed into the barrier and bounced away.

“…Like that…”

Rimu is incredibly cute as he twitches with satisfaction after firing the stone, but I don’t think it’s a stone thrower. It’s more like a bullet.

“Rimu says that’s how it’s supposed to be done.”

“Impossible.”

Carlo-san replies clearly. That’s right. I can’t do it that way either.

“Well, it doesn’t have to be that powerful. Just hitting the monster with a stone is enough, so just throw the stone away.”

Perhaps surprised by Rimu’s action, Carlo-san and Dario-kun started to move. Rimu’s action was a surprise, but it seemed to be a good start.

Carlo-san and Dario-kun threw stones at a very high speed, though not as fast as Rimu.

“”Kyaaa.””

The Gluttony Shark that was hit by the stone got angry and hit the barrier violently, and Bella-san and Flora-san hugged each other and screamed cutely.

I don’t know how to say it, but the two of them hugging and screaming looks incredibly cute.

That’s true. It’s just that the women around me are the female powerhouses, and ordinary women react like that. It’s a normal thing, but it’s very new to me.

“Mom, Flora. You’ll be fine even if the Gluttony Shark attacks you, you know. You have to hit the stone to raise your level, so just go for it.”

While I was being moved in a strange way, Ines encouraged Bella-san and Flora-san by handing them a stone.

“Here, throw it quickly. Don’t worry. Even if you don’t hit anything, there are plenty of stones.”

“A-all right. I just have to throw it, right? It’ll be okay, right? Hey, Ines-chan. Don’t push me.”

“It’s okay. Flora, too, it’s okay. Come on. Dad and Dario, one throw is not enough. You have to hit all the monsters that surround us.”

Ines is also worried about her family and her best friends, isn’t she? She’s pushing hard to make sure they don’t miss out on the opportunity to level up. I even doubt that this is the same Ines with a mean look on her face earlier.

“Eii! Ah, I hit it.”

“Ugh! Ah, Ines. My stone hit it, too. Look!”

Bella-san and Flora-san, pushed by Ines, throw stones at the monsters and shout for joy when they hit the monsters.

The sight of the three beautiful women rejoicing is very funny, but what they are doing is the act of throwing stones at the monster. There is a big difference.

I am a little worried about their reaction, but I think they were overwhelmed by throwing stones once, and Bella-san and Flora-san are throwing stones at the monsters one after the other. Carlo-san and Dario-kun, who had been worried about them, were also relieved and started throwing stones so that they would not be outdone by the women.

It took a while, but at this rate, I’m sure they can level up to a certain degree. And while we’re at it, let’s level up Pent as well… Pent can level up at any time, so I’d rather focus on Bella-san and the others this time. Pent should stay on board.

“Now we’re going to kill the monsters, so please stay near the entrance so you don’t get caught in the middle.”

Not everyone was able to hit all the monsters with stones, but it looks like they hit most of them, so let’s move on to the next stage.

In order to destroy all the surrounding monsters at once, Ines, Felicia, Girasole, Rimu, and the others spread out in a circle around the ship.

“Um, Wataru-san. I don’t have much experience in actual combat, but I have learned to fight according to the rules of the Adventurers’ Guild. Can I help you with anything?”

Come to think of it, Dario-kun is an employee of the Adventurers’ Guild. Apart from the receptionist, there seems to be a rule that male employees learn how to fight.

Since we were surrounded by so many monsters, I guess he thought it would be better to have a man on hand, so he offered to help us. But there’s no place for an amateur who’s only learned a little. More to the point, I, who is supposed to be at a high level, don’t have a role to play either.

“I appreciate the offer, but it is not necessary. If you work for the Adventurers’ Guild, you know the power of an A-class adventurer, don’t you?”

“Yes. I know that they are very impressive, and I know what Rimu-san can do with his stone-flying speed. But I’m not sure if it’s appropriate for me to stand by while Rimu-san and the others who are Slimes fight… I can’t seem to get my mind off it.”

Dario-kun spoke while looking at Rimu, Fuu-chan, and Beni-chan, who were stationed at the edge of the ship.

I understand what he means. Dario-kun understands the abilities of A-class adventurers, and he also understands that Rimu and the others are no ordinary Slimes. He even started adding “san” to Rimu’s name, so there is no doubt about it.

But even though he has a little bit of combat training, he can’t just sit back and let the Slimes fight. Is that okay? I guess he can’t suppress his young mind. Is that youth…? I can smell that youth.

“Um, I understand how you feel. It is possible, but if someone who has never fought with them before suddenly enters, it may cause coordination problems, so please stand by this time.”

“You’re right. Coordination is important, isn’t it? I apologize.”

Dario-kun returned to the waiting area with a little regret. I’m a little sorry to see him like this, but it’s better than letting him join the fight and being shocked when he can’t do anything. Dario-kun, you are a good young man, and I don’t want to break your heart.

“Well, then, each of you may begin.”

I, who had hinted at cooperation, gave the signal to start. Dario-kun’s eyes hurt me.

But that’s okay. I’ll show Dario-kun that true coordination is possible without exchanging words. Since they are used to extermination on a regular basis, there is no need to bother with command or strategy. It’s just a simple show of strength.

While I was smiling smugly in my mind, a huge flame engulfed the monster horde with a violent explosion. Maybe she wants to show her family a good part, but Ines attacks first.

And it’s magic I’ve never seen before in a normal extermination. No, this is the first time I’ve seen this kind of magic. She probably didn’t think about efficiency or power but used the most flashy magic she could.

This is the kind of magic that can be used today because the priority is to save time, not to collect materials. Ines is very smart to take advantage of gaps like this that I hadn’t thought of.

After Ines, Alessia-san and the others unleashed their flashy skills and magic, and Rimu and the others shot their proud magic into the crowd of monsters.

I feel like they’re all using magic and skills that they don’t normally use to destroy monsters. It’s definitely a performance to entertain Bella-san and Flora-san. It’s a wonderful act of service.

I was curious about the audience’s reaction and watched Bella-san and the others, but Bella-san, Carlo-san, and Flora-san were stunned when they saw Ines. They seem to be too excited to react.

Dario-kun is… He seems to be saying some words because his mouth is moving, but I can’t hear what he’s saying because of the loud sound of the attack.

But even if I can’t hear the words, I can get a general idea of what he’s saying by looking at his facial expressions.

Dario-kun is probably saying something like, “W-what the hell, so this is the power of an A-rank adventurer?” It feels kind of good.

While I was having my silly fantasies, the monsters were destroyed with overkill. Maybe it’s because they attacked with more flair than usual today, but everyone seemed somewhat satisfied with their performance.

I will consider giving them a chance to fight without thinking about materials, just to relieve stress from time to time. It makes me happy when the ladies and Rimu and the others are in a good mood.

“Level 21! I was originally level 9, and just now, my level went up by 12!”

Bella-san, who had been frozen in shock from the battle, checked her status at Ines’ urging and exclaimed with joy. An increase of 12 in the battle just now… That’s less than I thought.

After Bella-san, Carlo-san and the others also shouted with joy. Well, it seems that the level increase rate of Carlo-san’s group is not much different from that of Bella-san’s group.

However, it might be because there were not many strong monsters among the monsters gathered this time. Gluttony Shark is quite strong, but there were no other monsters like Kraken or Sea Serpent that can give a good experience value, which is too bad.

But, well, Bella-san and the others are happy, so it’s okay. There’s still some time before the sun sets, so let’s hope for a big one next time.

Sea Serpents are good, but I’m worried about the effects of overexploitation in the Duke’s castle. Well, they are not extinct, and I wonder if it would be a good idea to move further away from the Duke’s castle and go after Sea Serpents? I regret killing all the Sea Serpents in the Duke’s castle.

  1. Has this guy never played a game in his life? more people attacking means less xp, you share it all, if only one person killed them all they would have got far more levels.
