Chapter 20 – Day 19 of Living in the Demonic Land

Cher woke up and said she wanted to take a bath because she smelled of sweat.

Since it would be a problem if she caught another cold, I said I had made a bath and took her there.

While Cher was in the bath, I went to check on the vegetables in the field, and

“Aaaaaa…”

I wondered where the voice was coming from. It could be an old man.

The vegetables in the field were growing fine.

The bendgrass was not growing so much because the Swimmer Bird had finally stopped coming.

Considering I’m going to the training facility in three days, I need to write down what I’m taking and what I need. I should be able to get there and back in one day.

If Cher comes, we can keep it for two days.

The ham wasn’t very good, but I’ll take it anyway. I think I’ll just take the ham and the magic stone.

What I want is a spellbook. Specifically, I want a spellbook for space-time magic and a metal sword. I don’t know if there are any spellbooks, but I want a sword that doesn’t conduct magic power too well. I want to try to make magic tools, so if possible, I want to buy some.

“Then I guess I’ll take a few less items.”

I didn’t grow any vegetables, and I don’t think I’ll be able to harvest enough to sell.

What about fish?

I could take them that day, but they would start to smell a little.

Sleeping pills and paralysis drugs can be bought in the city, but since they are products of the demon land, wouldn’t they sell a little more?

While I was thinking about this, Cher came in from the bath.

I told her that I was going to the training facility in three days and that I’d write down the products.

We’re both starting to get used to drawing pictures on the floor, and we’re able to communicate pretty complex things.

Then I ask if Cher is coming with me, and she says,

“Mm, Cher, go.”

I told her that she would have to wear a fur hood and never show any skin. She nodded a couple of times, so I think she’ll be okay. She also seems to understand that the demon race is discriminated against in this country.

As for the product, Cher suggested that I sell her staff.

“I wonder if something like that could be sold as a product…”

“It’ll be fine!”

Cher gave me her stamp of approval.

Well, even if it doesn’t sell, the raw materials are free, so I thought it would be okay and decided to make a magic stone staff.

It seemed that Cher had already identified the magic stones that would sell and one by one, she brought them out of the room I was using as a storehouse.

It seems that she wants to use the magic stones of Slimes, Swimmers, and Wyverns. When I tried them all, they were all easy to understand and could be used for attacks. Slime and Swimmer Birds produce water magic, and Wyverns produce wind magic.

“Did you know that?”

“Fufufufufufu.”

Cher smiled triumphantly. She seemed very confident, but I was the one who made it.

I cut a branch of wood that looked easy to grasp and made a base for the magic stone. Meanwhile, Cher was cutting the fur of the wild bear to make a hood.

She sewed with fish bones for needles and thin vines for thread.

At times like this, spider monsters and the threads of cocoon-producing monsters would be suitable, but I haven’t seen any in the demonic land, so there’s nothing I can do.

Cher had surprisingly good sewing skills, and she finished the hood in a short time.

She asked me if it would be okay if I pulled on it, so I gave it a gentle tug, and it was a proper hood.

“That’s pretty impressive.”

When I complimented her, Cher looked embarrassed. She said she would wear work gloves and pants to hide the parts of her skin that were visible.

Then I told her the way because it would be awkward if she fell into the pit I had made near the entrance to the demonic land. I think I only made pits when I first came to the demon land.

Come to think of it, that was about three weeks ago, so I’ve been living a pretty intense life.

In the evening, I saw Cher practicing her magic, so I decided to join in.

I learned how to use fire magic with my right hand and ice magic with my left, and Cher threw rocks at me. I also feel a little out of place lately because I haven’t practiced magic, and I’m not sure if I can use it that way.

It’s really all a matter of image, isn’t it?

It’s like, “Wish it, and it will come true!”

So I thought I would try to use healing magic or space-time magic, but I couldn’t do any of that.

When I couldn’t, Cher gave me a fearless laugh.

When it comes to magic, Cher is totally superior. When I admitted that I had lost and asked her to teach me, Cher enthusiastically taught me.

At first I didn’t understand because it was all onomatopoeia, but it seems that it is important to know everything.

The magic that Cher used was like a sonar that used magic power.

It seems that she releases magic power into the ground for a moment to find out what is there and what is in the ground.

The healing magic is an application of that, and it seems that she releases magic power into the body for a moment to imagine what kind of wound it has and what it was like originally, and then she just heals it.

When I tried it on the Forest Rat, I thought I released too much magic power, and it fainted. There is a good balance for everything.

As a result of the successive experiments, it was discovered that the mother of the Forest Rat was about to give birth to six more babies.

The Forest Rat’s father had a stomach ulcer. It might be better to give it a little more space in the cage.

After the ulcer healed, the Forest Rat’s father happily ate the Cam fruit.

For some reason, Cher also made food for me at night. Maybe that made her seem more like a companion and less suspicious. The demon race also thinks about things.
