Looking at the actual stat increases, though, I couldn’t help but mutter, “Is this all I get after taking down two ranked players and hundreds of scoundrels?” The results were lower than expected.
The average increase for each stat was around 200. Even Magic Power, the stat I most wanted to boost, only increased by about 100, despite being relatively easy to raise.
(I knew this day would come. I guess I just have to accept it as proof that I’ve grown that much.)
The reason was clear. The skills with high possession rates among bandits had already been raised to high enough levels.
Mere street thugs like these wouldn’t raise my skill levels properly anymore.
It was the same as hunting thousands of F-rank or E-rank monsters and not growing stronger.
Still, there’s potential growth with the occasional low-possession-rate skill, or with skills that are still at low levels.
But the dream bonus time, when a flashy announcement plays upon defeating bandits, ends around here.
From now on, slaying groups of thirty petty criminals yields no growth. Occasionally, a rare monster will be among them, and the results will have me cheering or sighing.
I suppose this kind of progression will become the norm.
