Chapter 1 – Rematch With Iida Part 1
Winter has arrived, and the year-end holidays are approaching.
During peak sales periods like Christmas and year-end sales, shops throughout Tennoji are making a full effort to boost sales.
Tennoji at night, illuminated by colorful neon lights, is bright and beautiful.
However, separate from this bustling street scene, there was a place quietly gaining momentum:
Perfect Gym, located near Tennoji Station, is one such place.
Major combat sports matches are often scheduled for New Year’s Eve and broadcast on TV and online.
With such high expectations for viewership and attendance, the fighters are also extremely enthusiastic.
Iida, the MMA champion, was featured in one of the headline bouts for the title.
He trained rigorously every day in preparation for the fight.
The undercard fighters included trainees aspiring to turn pro.
Many fighters sweated it out at the gym, where a serious atmosphere permeated the space.
Suddenly, a cheerful female voice rang out in the gym.
“Iida! I’m here to fight! Hand over the title belt!”
“Hey, Aire. That’s rude. Sorry, she doesn’t know what she’s doing.”
“Huh? Rude? My bad! Sorry!”
“I’m sorry. Onee-sama is terribly rude.”
The moment Aire burst through the front door, her resonant voice instantly drew everyone’s attention as she declared a challenge.
Her distinctly non-Japanese appearance, coupled with her striking beauty, caused the men gathered in the gym to lose their composure.
It’s understandable if a foreigner misunderstands and says something like that.
Instead, their eyes were glued to beauties like Aire and Cloche.
“That girl came before. She really is beautiful.”
“Weren’t there about two more?”
“True. Maybe they’re celebrities? Like interviewing Iida-san?”
“That guy’s so close to them. I’m jealous,” remarked someone who remembered their previous visit.
Now that Stella was present too, Wataru was constantly under scrutiny, but he no longer cared. He requested a meeting with Iida and President Tanaka.
Note: Since the transformation-granting accessories weren’t ready yet, Stella was wearing a hat and sunglasses this time.
Since the visit had been arranged beforehand, Wataru and the others were immediately escorted to a private room upstairs.
“Thanks for coming! I’ve been wanting to see you guys!”
“I was looking forward to it, too!”
“We’ve got a favor to ask today!”
As Iida and Aire clasped fists, there was a thud. There was something between them—a connection forged by past battles.
Seeing them instantly warm up, despite it being their first meeting in a while, made Wataru feel a twinge of jealousy.
They aren’t just understanding each other; they’re practically fused together!
Silently engaging in this pointless mental rivalry, he began to seriously consider increasing his training volume.
His basic muscle strength had improved, but without combat experience and instinct, Wataru would likely never become a worthy opponent.
Practicing ground techniques would be much more beneficial.
Logically, he understood this, but as a man, it stung a little to know he wasn’t worthy of being a proper opponent.
“All right, let’s get started then!”
“Yeah. Let’s do it!”
In front of Wataru, Iida jumped into the ring and beckoned Aire over.
Aire changed into training gear so he could move more freely.
After a light warm-up, they were ready to spar.
Having learned the hard way last time when her tail was stepped on, Aire now had it wrapped snugly around her waist. It served as an impromptu championship belt.
Iida, a two-division MMA champion, was entering a new growth phase after returning from injury.
He had delivered two consecutive KO victories, with some calling them godlike, while suffering almost no damage himself.
With his old injuries fully healed and even minor, unnoticed muscle and tendon strains resolved, his physical control had improved by leaps and bounds.
Training in peak physical and mental condition further honed Iida into an even better fighter.
While various MMA organizations exist, he is widely regarded as having no rivals left in his weight class.
His next fight would determine the unified champion, and he was the clear favorite.
His body, honed by weight cutting and training, showed more definition and sharpness than before, and his skin had a healthy glow.
Even a simple jab revealed his excellent form.
A crucial New Year’s Eve fight awaited him, in which he would face a champion from another organization for the belt.
Iida requested to spar with Aire for a reason.
“Let’s make sure neither of us gets hurt.”
“My opponent uses high-speed footwork and mainly attacks with kicks. Could we focus on that today?”
“Got it. Kicks, huh? I’ve watched tons of MMA videos and studied up since then. Like this?”
With a whoosh cutting through the air, Aire’s long leg traced an arc.
Her pivot foot dug into the ground, launching a sharp right high kick.
Just before it would have hit her opponent’s head, she abruptly changed the angle, transitioning into an unconventional middle kick.
Without losing momentum, she shifted her weight onto her left foot and leaped upward to deliver a spinning roundhouse kick.
“Whoa! That’s seriously insane!”
“As expected of Onee-sama! Having the physical control to instantly put it into practice just from watching is impressive! The strength, flexibility, and balance that make it possible! You truly are a genius among geniuses! Haa, haa… I can’t help it; I’m getting excited… Slurp.”
“Cloche, you’re noisy.”
“S-sorry…”
Seeing Cloche lose her composure over Aire, not just with Wataru and the others but with Iida and Tanaka too, made everyone smile wryly.
But Iida seemed to snap out of it, immediately switching to a serious expression.
“My sparring partner quit because it was too tough, so I’m in a bind. President, please ring the bell.”
“Understood.”
“All right, let’s do this! I’m counting on you!”
“Nishishi, this is going to be fun! Iida! Don’t lose right away!”
“You said it!”
A sharp clang echoed.
They lightly tapped gloves, and the sparring began.
They looked like children playing, but they were taking it very seriously.
